- Lansing - Michigan's state capitol and home of Michigan State University is located 100 miles east of Muskegon.
- Grand Haven - just 15 miles south of Muskegon, Grand Haven offers a 2 and a half mile boardwalk, beautiful state parks with sand dunes, beaches and plenty of hiking & biking trails.
- Saugatuck/Douglas - located on the lakefront 45 miles south of Muskegon, Saugatuck/Douglas is the "Art Coast of Michigan" as well as the "Bed & Breakfast Capital of the Midwest." Sophisticated charm, eclectic dining, wonderful shopping, waterfront panoramas all within a relaxing atmosphere make Saugatuck/Douglas a favorite destination for many travelers.

- Traverse City – 145 miles north of Muskegon, Traverse City provides beautiful scenery, vineyards, cherry orchards, golf courses, casinos and shopping. Nearby, visit the awesome Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. - Detroit – Michigan's largest city is 200 miles east of Muskegon. Known as the "Automobile Capital of the World" as well as the home of Motown, Detroit's professional sports teams include the NFL Lions, MLB Tigers & NHL Red Wings. A visit to The Henry Ford in nearby Dearborn is a must.
- Mackinaw City & Mackinac Island - "Michigan's Favorite Getaway" – historic sites, unique attractions, the spectacular Mackinac Bridge and the gateway to Mackinac Island where transportation is limited to horse and buggy, bicycle or foot. 280 miles north of Muskegon, Mackinaw City is an excellent destination or a great stop on a Circle Lake Michigan tour.
- Pentwater - Located 45 miles north of Muskegon, Pentwater is an historic village on the western shore of Michigan founded in 1853. Pentwater's tree-lined streets show off charming Victorian homes and cottages framed by beautiful gardens. Almost everything is within walking distance of the marinas, retail district, public beach and village green, where Thursday band concerts have been a tradition every summer for more than 50 years.
