About Lake Express - the Lake Michigan High Speed Ferry


Lake Express began service on June 1, 2004, linking the states of Wisconsin and Michigan with terminals in Milwaukee and Muskegon.

The high-speed Lake Michigan crossing takes just two and one-half hours, saving passengers a lengthy drive through heavily congested Chicago.

Lake Express is a fun, fast and easy transportation solution. You save time, avoid traffic hassles, and can enjoy your time during the voyage however you like.

Convenient scheduling

A highly flexible early spring schedule, with trips running twice daily, and a third trip added in summer, makes the Lake Express convenient for all travelers. Buy tickets online, in person, or by phone with the help of a Lake Express customer service agent.

Lake Express is capable of holding 46 vehicles and 12 motorcycles for each passage across the lake. Both Lake Express terminals have full-service Enterprise Rent-A-Car counters for passengers who choose to travel without their vehicles. Ground transportation is also available through taxis and shuttle service.

Lake Express has terminals in Milwaukee and Muskegon with ample parking and easy interstate access in both locations. Parking is $5.00 per day.
