Video: Ride the Lake Express to its Winter Home

Monday, November 03, 2008

One of the most unique and seldom seen traditions for the Lake Express high speed ferry comes at the conclusion of each season. Each fall, after the schedule of Lake Michigan crossings between Milwaukee, WI and Muskegon, MI has come to close, the ship makes its way into the heart of Milwaukee toward its winter home. It's a trip that only a limited number of people, mostly ship's crew, have taken in past years.

This year, in an effort to share the trip, a camera was placed on the top deck, programmed to take a photo every two seconds. Later the photos were arranged into a short film that tracks the once a season trip – presented below for your viewing.
